Path Finder is a laser device that straps on to shoes and is designed to help people with freezing of gait using visual cueing.
The cue, present as a green laser line, helps the brain initiate your movement and helps you resume walking.
Freezing can be a common symptom of Parkinson’s. People describe it as feeling like their feet are ‘glued’ to the ground.
A tendency to freeze won’t disappear but you can improve control. Use a specific strategy or ‘cue’ once you’ve frozen.
