What do the pound signs mean?

Every product is put in a price band, so you can easily compare them. This article shares exactly what those bands are.

Devices and apps for Parkinson's can be very expensive - or they can be free. And it really matters to know how much something costs!

In the Tech Guide, we share the exact price of every product on its product page. But it can be useful in listings to be able to quickly compare products in a price range.

So we've also put every product into one of five price bands, represented by a different number of pound signs.

  • Free
  • £ - Up to £10
  • ££ - Up to £100
  • £££ - Up to £1000
  • ££££ - Over £1000

When you see a product in the catalogue, you can quickly see which band each falls into. And you can also filter the catalogue by this price band, so that you can include (or exclude) the price ranges you're interested in.

Note that the price band includes the total cost of owning a product. So, if a device has consumables (like adhesive or replaceable parts) or a monthly subscription then we include the cost of these over two years, as well as the up-front price of buying it.
