BeechBuddy is a smartwatch app designed to mimic the functionality of the BeechBand by producing gentle, rhythmic vibrations on the wrist.

The company claims the app can help improve focus, reduce stress, and promote better communication, movement and sleep by calming the mind. BeechBand recommends two sessions a day to see long-term benefits.

It’s important to note that the app isn’t exactly the same as the BeechBand device. The vibrations aren’t as powerful, meaning it may be better suited to less intense symptoms or as a backup device while your BeechBand is charging. The app can also put a heavy strain on your smartwatch’s battery life.

Questions

Is there any connection between BeechBand and Parkinson’s UK?

Yes. In 2024, Parkinson’s UK announced that it was investing in the BeechBand to help refine to product. BeechBand also donated 6 free devices to support our panel review, and we passed these directly to the reviewers.

We have a series of policies and practices in place to make sure that our review is independent of any existing relationship between our organisations or staff. If you’d like to find out more about this, you can read about it in our transparency statement.
